Splash Screen set up help needed

I think I am doing something really stupid, but I cannot get the splash screen to show. I have it all set up in Buzztouch, I have loads of other screens etc and they are all fine, but the splash screen is alluding me. I was also trying to attach pdfs to the menu - but have ended up setting a url instead. I cant figure how to upload the pdfs into xcode - I doesn't seem to be as simple as dropping them into the file. Sorry - I am a newbie. Thanks Louise

Assuming it's 1.5... Splash screen - Go into 'manage screens and menus' & make a new splash screen and put a JPG photo in it, or similiar. Then go into 'Theme/My Generic theme' (or maybe you've renamed it something else) and click on 'splash screen'. Browse to the name of the splash screen you just created in 'manage screens and menus'. Then drag the EXACT jpg file with the same name to the 'Images' folder in your xcode program, or if it just reference a website, make sure the JPG is up on your website. Then build your app to the simulator or iPhone, should work fine. PDFS - haven't done this but same thin, type in name in the correct field in the PDF page, drag PDF into xcode in the right folder, close app and rebuild & Bobs your Uncle (sort of) Hope thats some use! Elaine.

Hi Lougow, Double check the spelling of your splash screen image. Also make sure it doesn't have any spaces or special characters (&*^%$#@! etc.) in the name. After opening your project in xcode just drag your .pdf file in the BT_Docs folder. Make sure it is linked properly using the appropriate screen type. Then to get it to show up in the simulator you will need to recompile the app. Just stop the simulator and then run it again. Should work. Message here with more details if you're still having issues.

Hi All Thanks so much for helping Stefan - you say ______________ When you are dragging the file into Xcode make sure that the Copy items into destination groupp folder is selected. Br/Stefan ______________ What do you mean - as this is where I am going wrong, I am putting the image in the BT_images folder of the file, when I pull down the images from within Xcode its not there, its getting them into xcode that I just cant figure. How do I do it from within Xcode? Elaine - I have done exactly that - yet nothing shows - there isnt even a blank splashscreen!! Parker - I have been adding pdfs to the BT_Docs folder. How do they get from there to xcode - as I can scroll through from within xcode - but I dont see them there. I am stumped. Its as if there is another folder somewhere!! Thanks guys

When you drag the file from finder to Xcode a popup (down) meny is shown. In that dialogue window you have a couple of options, one is a checkbox where you can mark Copy items into destination folder. Mark that. This means that your image file is copied INTO your project. After that clean (BUILD->CLEAN) and rebuild (BUILD-> BUILD AND RUN) your project into your simulator. Good luck
