Providing the user with non quiz questions, Sending data to the server and have the user enter text.

I just started using the BuzzTouch Content Management Software and I am inspired to create an application using this framework. My son and I have started to create two applications and hope to make them available within the app store. I am running IOS 4 on my iPhone and my iPad using the latest SDK. I have another application in mind that would help me at my job. The application is very simple (I think). There are three (3) things that I need to figure out to develop the application with basic functionality. 1. - Ability to ask questions (non Quiz). Checkbox, True or False, multiple choice questions. It would not be a quiz so there really is no correct answer. Example Checkbox Question: Regulatory Reporting (Selected or not) Example of True or False Question: Is this application associated with a SOX process? (True or False answer) Multiple Choice Questions: Frequency of Reporting: Answer that could be selected is “Adhoc, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi Annually, Annually “. 2. Once the questions have been answered by the application user, I would like to send the result / user responses to my web server. Comma delimited file or some other format that can be loaded to a database later. I’m looking for specific example how to pass the information to my web server. 3. I need the user to enter text into a text box and have that text be sent along within the Comma delimited file. I’m looking for specific example how to do this within BuzzTouch if it is possible? If BuzzTouch does not have this capability, can someone from the community provide me with the sample code from my example above that would perform this functionality. Any support or guidance would be very helpful. I appreciate all the good work that the community is doing. Best regards

To get a full understanding of what buzztouch can do, please review the Documentation. It is available by clicking Help at the top of the page, and then clicking the Documentation link. Unfortunately this isn't something that can be entirely setup through the control panel. The features you wish to create could be achieved through the use of a buzztouch custom HTML screen. You'll need to code an HTML page and link it to your database/server yourself though. Luckily, there are many different ways to achieve this and google will turn up tons of different tutorials on getting this up and running. There are even free form builder websites out there that you could use.

You can try building your check box form at http://wufoo.com/ It's pretty easy to build and then integrate into a BuzzTouch app using the custom url feature.

Hi Parker, MGoBlue, Thank you both for your quick reply. I had printed and read the buzztouch documention. My question was more to see if someone has created this functionaility outside of the control panel and how they specifically achomplished this for their application. I should have been more clear in my previous post. I have created a PDF, from the web documentation so I could read it offline. If anyone want a copy or if there is a place that I can post the full Buzztouch PDF documentation online let me know? Buzztouch does about 85 percent of what I want my application to do. I would like to build the application to include these features, evern if it is outside of the Control Panel. Based on your recommendation I looked at the form builder websites. Although these sites do provide this basic functionaility the data would not resides on my site or the device. I would perfer full control of the data. In fact I would perfer that the data reside on the device with the ability to submit to the server. I am now looking the YouTube videos to see if there is a ways to achieve what I want and get this up and running. If anyone can provide me with more specific it would be appreciated. Thanks for your help Joe Z
