Cache audio after/during streaming?

Hi guys, I wont go into my own personal politics about using Android or Apple. Lets just say I am using Android at the moment, so therefor using 1.4. I have built a few 'streaming audio' apps and are available on the market. They work perfectly, mp3 files hosted on my own server and they stream effortlessly from there. However I can not figure out how to, when 'the user' finishes streaming a particular song. I would like that song to be cached/downloaded into the phones memory so later on when 'the user' comes back to the app the song does not have to be downloaded/streamed again, it can play from where the song is stored on the phones memory (Good for when the user of the phone is not in an area where wifi is available) Or if it is possible? My coding is limited but to get this far I am learning all the time from BuzzTouch ;-) Thankyou

Hi in Birmingham: This will be tough in v1.4. These and other issues like it were a big motivator for the new release. As you know, iOS only today, bummer. The idea behind what your asking is to first download the song, then play it, then save it. The next time it's downloaded the app checks the local cache for the file before downloading again, if it finds it locally is plays that version. If you had some coding skills you may be able to pull this off w 1.4 but it's tough because that version wasn't designed to work this way.

Thanks for your response David. I have tried some work arounds with some if, not, when senarios but my coding is not quite that good yet. It's not a major issue as the function works perfectly as it is. What do people want from a free app hey ;-) Can I say 1.5 if great and cant wait to see the android version. So much more prospects and my coding skills are coming along, all be it self taught and slowly. Integrating Airpush, my latest victory. I shall post my results when I get them plus my admob results so far. Happy developing!
