App needs Internet?

I have built an app using buzztouch 1.4. It has several PDF and word documents in it, files that I thought were within the app. While testing my app on my iPhone I used aeroplane mode to turn off all Internet to see how the app works. All PDF and word docs do not load. Please help. I want (need) all the PDF/word files of my eBook to be available within the app without using end users Internet!

SP2Tech, usually you just drag the word and pdf documents into the BT_Docs folder in xcode. As far as I know the docs will be contained in the app.

however if you are not knowlegdable in xcode, then what do you do? Currently I have an app that soley depends on word and pdf files. When building the app, I am selecting the option to add a word or pdf file.

Actually after doing some testing, it looks liek the entire App, including submenues, custom text, etc...requires internet. My guess is most of these apps are stored online with buzztouch.

Actually I can't use xcode as I am creating an android app. HOw do I install word and pdf files into my Android App without those documents depending on internet access?

I see. I am using Buzztouch 1.5 and have only made iPhone apps so far. Version 1.5 doesnt yet provide for making Andriod apps, but I understand it is being made to do so soon. But I know when it comes to pdf and word files I would just drag those files from my desktop into the Buzztouch BT_Docs folder in xcode. I am pretty sure you dont have to have an internet connection unless you have html files that need downloading. I cant speak for the Andriod way of doing it, maybe someone else can chime in and help you out.

Thanks for all the replies. Ok so can I drag the required PDF files into Xcode and make them available offline within the App if the app was made using buzztouch 1.4. It would be a poor selling point if the entire app needed the Internet.

@SP2Teach: Poor selling point - funny, nothing for sale. Hee hee. I totally understand your concern...but...v1.4 does require internet for almost all the content until it's cached on the device. This was a big reason we've spent so much time reworking everything in v1.5. Offline access and disconnecting from the buzztouch backend (and running your own backend) is a huge benefit for lots of folks. We'll get Android going soon..in the meantime, if you need offline support for iOS, use v1.5 for much better results.

As David put it the content will be there as long as the don't clear cache, If they do they will need to reconnect to internet.
