Need help getting Eclipse started

I downloaded Eclipse, Android SDK and AVD Manager, but when I try to open a new Android Project, it's not in the menu. The Read Me says Eclipse must have the Android Developer Tools installed. Is that different from what I already have downloaded? Or do I need to import it somehow into Eclipse? Somebody help me

This link is an excellent resource for those new to android: http://mobile.tutsplus.com/tutorials/android/introduction-to-android-development/ It covers setup, and the running and debugging of a small test app, etc. It should at the very least get you going in the right direction.

Alright, I did what Parker suggested. I was able to download & install the plugin & even create a new project. After I did all the steps on the Read Me file, it never launced a project in Eclipse or an emulator. In the bottom dialogue in the Problems tab, it said the Manifest Helper was missing. That should be included in the source code I downloaded, right?

@Lake - It can be a little tricky getting your eclipse environment setup properly. There are a bunch of different devices and some require a sightly different setup. Another resource to try out is: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html or take up @steve on his offer. He has helped out more than a few buzztouch users getting things up and running.

Excellent! Was it something you picked up in the tutorials, or did Steve help you? Something else? I just ask because others like yourself run into these issues and it helps everyone if a solution can be given.

Very Cool! Be sure to share it on the buzztouch facebook page. There is a link on the Help Center page called User Created Apps. It's free advertising. :)

I got it up and running, but I've had some users tell me that they can't share from the app on FaceBook or Twitter. What do I need to check on or fix to make this work right? Thanks

Twitter in Android v1.4 is an ongoing problem, see a previous post here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=ECCC35898EA66C5FBFFE2DB&status=&searchInput=Twitter&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1 easiest workaround is using a custom URL page Facebook is an easy fix in Android v1.4, give me a shout on SkypeChat = teld22 or GTalk = [email protected] & I'll talk you through it free of charge :-) Steve
