My 23 Parameter/Not Used Warnings

I am new to buzztouch, so please bear with me as I am describing my warnings. Once the rough draft of my application was finished, I wanted to give it a try on my Android Virtual Device. The application ran perfectly, but once I exited the virtual device, I believe I saw 158 Warnings, most of which I was able to use quick fix on. After trying quick fix on all of the warnings, I was left with these 23 that if I used quick fix, the warnings would change to errors. Below are the warnings I am receiving, In parenthesis I have indicated the number of each warning I am receiving. AdapterView is a raw type. References to generic type AdapterView<T> should be parameterized (4 of these) ArrayList is a raw type. References to generic type ArrayList<E> should be parameterized (1 of these) ItemizedOverlay is a raw type. References to generic type ItemizedOverlay<Item> should be parameterized (1 of these) List is a raw type. References to generic type List<E> should be parameterized (3 of these) The value of the local variable btnQuit is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable cookieSyncMngr is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable iconFileName is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable iconView is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable link is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable numberWrong is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable s is not used (2 of these) The value of the local variable simSerial is not used (1 of these) The value of the local variable softwareVer is not used (1 of these) Type safety: The method add(Object) belongs to the raw type ArrayList. References to generic type ArrayList<E> should be parameterized (4 of these) Thanks In Advance!!

I'm not aware of what 'quick fix' is so I can't speak to that. I can say that thousands of these things have been downloaded and warnings and errors are COMMON but not good. They should not be there. 100% of the time they are related to what SDK you are building against. Verify that you are building against the Google v1.6 API's. This is different than Android 1.6. There's a video about it in your control panel. One more thought. It's possible that you have a preference in your Ecipse install that is showing warnings for all sorts of code-style or syntax styles. Not sure there?

First of all, Thank you for the quick reply!! I am building with Google v1.6 API's, so I am not sure where the warnings are coming from. If do nothing with these warnings will I still be allowed to publish my application to the Android Market, or must they be fixed before publishing? Also, which errors/warnings should I go about changing/ignoring for the settings in Preferences? Thanks Again!

Warnings are not a problem as far as compiling, publishing... Erros (red) are. This means you should be OK. There isn't anyway for us to know how to supress these warnings in Eclipse because thre are so many preferences in the Eclipse settings box. Maybe Google 'supress warnings in Eclipse' or something?
