You could start by creating a button menu with grid layout. For each button, use a background image and point it to your gallery. That was going to be one of my next posts/requests actually. The present image gallery is good, but sometimes a thumbnail gallery is more efficient, specially when you have a larger numbers of images. But for now I'm pretty sure you can add a XML-driven gallery that would even handle the swipe and pinch gestures... You just need to make one or find one in the web! I have seen something like that but can't remember where! =D That's going to my to-do list right after Janrain and Push! However, it's not tough to do it with buttons if there are not too many images. The best approach depends. Oh, in fact, there's a good example of an HTML gallery that looks exactly like the native iOS gallery. Google it maybe, can't remember where I saw it.
