Disable iads and submit as a pro version?

Can I disable iads, download project again, submit the app with adding a 'pro' after it's name and sell it as an iad free version, so my first app stays with the iads and be free? Of course I need to enable iads again from the bt control panel. But there are 2 questions: -Will 2 apps update at the same time I make a change on bt control panel? -Will enabling iads mess up my 'paid' app's screen?

Thinking out loud here, good question, will follow this thread. Will the Bundle ID not interfere with that? If you managed to get the guys to duplicate your app and set it up with a new bundle ID you would solve the issue by reg'ing a new bundle ID with Apple but then you'd have two apps to update when making changes, hmm. Sounds like a bunch of conflicts would kick in but someone must have been down this road before. I like the idea though, my only paid app does not have iAds enabled.

This looks like it would work fine. You'd just need to use a different bundle id for the pro version. Both apps should update when you make changes to the control panel because they will be calling the same buzztouch core configuration data. Let us know how it goes. I'm thinking of trying the same thing.

I like the thinking out loud idea...I'm doing it too ;-) Get this, I've done lots of this kind of thing before. In one case, there are a few dozen apps (all different) running from the same config data. It's a bit jenky and can get confusing so be sure to keep some notes around or a development log so you know what the heck's connected to what. a) In this case, one app's already running from the control panel. Cool. b) Create another app in the control panel. Just an empty app, no content or screens. Name it strtegically in the control panel so you know why it's empty. c) Download the source (it will make you add an icon first) d) After downloading the source, add a unique Apple Id in the .plist. Update the name here too. e) Copy the BT_config.txt file from the first app and use it in the second app. Both apps now use the same config file and both will be updated from the control panel. Now the fun / tricky part. I realize you're trying to get ads in one but not the other. But, thats not going to work if you run both apps from the same configuration file / URL. Maybe I'm missing something here but I can't think of a way to use literally the same file for both while maintaining a difference. That's kind of the whole point right? You could use a DropBox for one and switch the URL in the file for the paid version and copy-n-paste each time to the DropBox. In this case you'll just be setting the 'includeAds' to 1 on the screens you want ads to appear on before updating the DropBox.
