Avoiding 12.3 rejection: Apps that are simply web clippings, content aggregators, or a collection of links

I developed an app for a real estate agent that includes location aware listings, both list and map, that shows listings in order of distance from the user and link to detailed property info. The app has been rejected, although a similar app was approved a couple months ago. According to Apple: We found that the experience your app provides is not sufficiently different from a web browsing experience, as it would be by incorporating native iOS functionality. While your app content may differ from your web site or other existing sites, the experience it provides does not differ significantly from the general experience of using Safari, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines. I appealed the rejection and my appeal was denied. The reason given was too much mobile safari, not enough use of iOS. They also mentioned XML vs webview (not clear on what they mean). I have just resubmitted the app after adding push notification and the buzztouch image emailer function; maybe that will help get it approved. Moving forward with new app development of a similar nature that use the location aware feature, I'm looking for suggestions on how to enhance the user experience, use more iOS and make the app less mobile safari like. Thanks.

try adding the quiz function from buzztouch. Apple wants something more than just webpages, and they are looking for offline compatibility too. It may seem pointless and unrelevant but Apple can't turndpwn an app that meet all its requirements. So in other words, adding a simple quiz would bypass 12.3 rejection. Thats what I did here. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wii-u-news-and-countdown/id448845604?ls=1&mt=8

Thanks for the suggestion, but I forgot to mention, the app I submitted also included a quiz. Still rejected.

Use Tabs, add Share on FaceBook/Twitter/Email/Text Message, and add an icon at the top-right for device info or whatever you want.
