I am designing an industry specific app for Security Installers that I will be selling on the android market, however I would like to give some Free copies to my employees. Is this possible?

Just send them the .apk file and have them install via either a file explorer such as root explorer or apk installer both can be found in the market.

You could put the .apk on your website, then send them an Email with the URL to the .apk file. Instruct them to click the link using while viewing the email in their mobile device. This will launch the devices native browser. When the native browser requests a URL that ends in .apk, it assumes it's an Android app and will ask the user if they want to install it. Just like using the market. Most app owners make a mobile web-page with some info about how the install process works, a note about setting the device to 'allow non-market apps', and some basic info. This webpage has the link to the .apk file. The link is usually a graphic, button, etc. The email you send your users has the URL to the landing page, not the app itself.
