So after searching the app store to find other apps like mine made from BT that are running offline (no refresh button) and contain iAds...they all get their backgrounds cleared after viewing iads with a black screen....the ones that are still connected to BT work fine...is this a bug? issue might only be ipad related? thanks.

Also, I sent a message to Apple to hopefully find out if it's on their end...it happens often enough on the apps i tested to be troublesome

Hi Mutzy, your app was one of the ones I tested...black screen happens a lot on my iPad...seems worse with iAds with multi-media in them...weird?

I have developed a couple apps and always turn off iPad compatibility... Are the apps you are testing considered iPad apps? If the person who developed them didn't uncheck the iPad as a compatible device in xcode, and also neglected to add higher res images for backgrounds in BuzzTouch under Advanced Menu Properties in the Screen Background Image section under Image Name Large Device the device will load its default background, which are solid black. If they were to link the same image in both places, Image Name Large Device & Image Name Small Device in the advanced options, I believe it would stop the black screen from loading. Im not saying it would look good, just that is what I saw in my experiences. (If you use high res images and select the correct option in (Background Image Scale / Position) or create different images, one for small screens and one for large screens and link them in the project appropriately, what you describe shouldn't happen.) I regards to iAd, from what I know, the host file only periodically updates the ads, and the offline app with iAd implemented will still connect to iAd servers, but would use the images packaged within the .app to display the backgrounds. I dont know why it happens, but I have seen several instances of artifacts of the .app's default settings peek through in my app's. I have always either closed the app and gotten it to restarted or messed with the code until it worked. Hope this is helpful in some way. Regards, Christopher

You're lucky. I think my app had 2000 people who downloaded my most recent update... some days I may get a few dollars, other days ten cents. Usually more of the latter.

Hi mutzy, yeah I'm pretty happy with my iAds...guess I'm just gonna release my next apps and hope for the best as far as black screen goes...Apple pretty much told me if it doesn't happen 100% of the time then don't worry about it...I'd say it happens 80% of the time but always on the iAds most users would click (ads with multimedia) ....just opened your app on my iPad, clicked on AT&T ad and when closed the ad your background was black...but your content is still readable so that's good...still same iAd on apps that are connected don't experience this problem...oh well I guess?
