Asterisk Defaulting to Question Mark On Screen Titles (Nicknames)

version 1.5 Am I going crazy? I think I tried over 20 combinations to try and get an asterisk in the title only to see that it defaults to a question mark shortly after. Is there something on the backend that is causing this? I have a workaround but not pretty in the app. I also noticed that the caret (shift 6) defaults to the ampersand (shift 7). Does anyone else see this? The app name is Gunsmoke Radio if you need to check something on your side.

Hi in OK: This is an interesting question. There isn't anything on the backend that should cause this. Doesn't mean it's not, just not something I can think of. Where are you trying to use an asterik and a caret? In other words, what screens are you try to do this on (nicknames from your control panel). Also...if you plan to submit this to apple for approval, asteriks, carets, and other special characters in a navigation-bar-title will likely be rejected. We've seen this a few times before and don'y fully understand why Apple doesn't like non-apha characters (words) in the title? It may have something to do with accessability features built into iOS.

The asterisks would not be in the Title Bar but would be in the List where you have a Title and Description. The program I am creating reuses old episode names so I would like to denote the name of the episode with an asterisk so that the user would know that it is a different episode but same name as an earlier one. If you have an Android device, download OTR Gunsmoke from the market. Heck, buy the donate version if you are feeling generous. In the year 1952 there is a show named Cain about two-thirds of the way down the list. In the the year 1953, the sixth show is also named Cain. The difference being that the second (and third and fourth if necessary) are different shows just reusing the same script. Most of them use different actors. I was wanting a name in the list to the effect of Cain * and under it in the description I would denote (Reused Script).
