Does Pulling Data From URL Cache It On Phone? v1.5

Hi, If I pull a set of menu list items from a file on my website, will that list be cached on the phone, so it doesn't have to be pulled each time that screen is accessed? In this particular case, the list is one of the fifty states, but I just don't want to type in all the names! If I can pull from a JSON file, and have it cached, that would be awesome! Thanks, Mark

Mark, BuzzTouch just released documentation on their app build features. Best to review that in full, as it will answer a lot of newcomers questions regarding features. Please see the Advanced Settings in the menu screen you want to use. You will find the following detail under the Screen Data URL property- Some screens can be configured to pull data from the web instead of pulling data from your control panel. Screens that do this do not have to download the data from the network everytime, a copy is cached on the device for offline access. Generally speaking, data is only download form the network the first time the screen loads then not again until the cache is deleted from the device.

Hi @erichopf...thanks for the answer! I have been reading the documentation, but I was really just hoping to verify that a menu list was treated the same as other data when it comes to caching. It sounds like it is! I guess the rule here is that data is data, no matter what it looks like. Thanks!
