New to apple, xcode and being a apple developer - getting codesign error when running on iphone but ok in simulator

After using buzztouch for a couple of months got inspired to buy a mac and do iphone development. Really enjoying using 1.5 much more intuitive. I set up as a developer and made a quick app to test on iphone. in xcode works fine in simulator mode but not in device. Keep on getting this message- CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'iOS 4.3' Checked and although I am classed as apple developer I had not got iOS developer programme. Bought it today online - does this change my status on xcode or do I have to wait for apple to activate me and is this why I am getting this error message. Any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like you still need to create a provisioning profile cert, have you done that yet? If not, log into the Developer Center then navigate to 'iOS Provisioning Portal', then 'Certificates' and set up your certs. You'll need one for development and one for distribution. Welcome and good luck!

Thank you MacApple - set up certificate and that now shows when i go to edit project settings in xcode, under code signing identity my name and certificate now come up in bold. However when I go to build and run I am still getting same CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'iOS 4.3' I feel I am one step forwards with help but still havent fully set up xcode Any further help will be appreciated and make my imac my buddy agian rather than an arch nemisis

I hear you. Sounds like you are almost there mate, few more tweaks and your iMac will be your friend again. When you assign the dev profile in Xcode you must be missing changing a setting or two. Have a wee search in forum for the 'code sign error' you should find a wee helper or two. Post back if no joy. Keep going!

Got to next stage but causing more consternation, really am starting to look like my buzztouch picture. Look on bt excellent forum again and edited active target in xcode, pressed build and it sort of worked. Icon appeared on phone then gave this message - No screens to display. Check setting on xcode and was set to release. Set it to debug as I was worried that release is the setting to release to app market? Still same message - no screens to display But it runs ok in simulator? Thanks for all help so far

Good man, should have told you about refresh, have hit that a couple of times myself. I'm actually from the UK, been over here in the colonies for 7 yrs now. You'll be posting a wee thread that says 'App Approved!' in no time. Just got an app accepted for my Celtic supporting buddies and Banksy fans, search for 'Aipple' in iTunes, my personal ones are in there. Peace the noo mate and will take you up on pint and chips!

Nice one. Between Glasgow and Edinburgh they have been doing installations to break up monotony of the road trip, great idea. Love the revision app idea(s) good few folks on here have had great success with similar implementations. Celic (Celtic) app will be sweet when new season starts, buddies love it and it is so simple! Love the Danny Boy comment! Do me a wee favor if you get a chance and leave a wee comment / review for Banksy app if you like it.

Marko.....: How did you resolve the problem as i am having the same problem. I can run my app on the simulator without a problem but i am not able to run it in my iPhone. It comes up with the same error message you were getting. CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'iOS 4.3'
