Testing app on iphone

I'm having trouble testing my app on my iphone. My iphone doesnt appear in the section where I can choose simulator or device - it just says iOS Device and when I try and run the app it gives a warning of No iOS device provisioned... and for me to connect an iOS device. My iphone is connected, not sure what the problem is... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, It sounds like that you haven't created a developer certificate and a provisioning profile to link with your device. Details for provisioning apps for you own devices and for distribution on the App store can be found here: http://developer.apple.com/ios/manage/overview/index.action You should see installed these profiles when you click on the 'Organizer' button in the top right hand corner area of Xcode. Hope this helps.

problem was that I got a new iPhone and hadn't done the provisioning thing for it, kind of a pain to get the new certificate and have xcode recognize it, had about 9 other error messages until I was finally able to get the code signing and everything to match, but in the end I was able to fix the problem!
