Will everyone need to recompile and resubmit the source codes or will we have an option to continue using 1.4? Will 1.4 apps still function once 1.5 is official? There will eventually be a converter from v1.4 to v1.5 as well. But we are going to get v1.5 for android up and running first. We say soon because we honestly can't commit to a date. Things come up like the spike in server traffic these last two months, etc, that become priorities to deal with. After we get things like that out of the way, we still want to be sure to release something that works to our standards. It can take time, and that time varies with each development project.
