iPad and 1.4

Is there a way to get 1.4 apps, specifically PDF pages, to not look like ass on the iPad? And by ass I mean very low resolution and barely readable. Pardon the language but it is most descriptive, no?

Not really. Ass is an understatment....2x text, images, anything does suck. The problem is that v1.4 was made before the iPad existed and when it came out all the apps in the app store sucked. Our solution was to re-code from scratch and this turned into v1.5. Not sure how to advise here? Android is waaaaaaay behind on this end for all sorts of reasons. Mostly because we're barely keeping up with day-to-day stuff because of the ridiculous growth. Good in some ways, bad in others. Wish I could give you a date. Can't.

Hey buddy, I had a similar issue while working on an android version of my first app. The PDF stuff never really worked very well for me (particularly because I couldn't zoom). I found what worked MUCH better was converting the PDF into a JPEG or PNG and then uploading it to photobucket. Once it's uploaded, copy the Direct Link, then instead of making a PDF option, do a simple URL. You can't tell the difference that it's a JPG and not a PDF, and you can zoom with much better quality (depending on your export options you choose when you first converted away from a PDF).

Thanks for the advice. On Android there is no issue, all the PDFs look awesome, crisp and clear even on my Xoom tablet. The iPad on the other hand... ass. The PNG JPG idea sounds plausible, although I believe, may be wrong, that the file sizes will grow significantly. The apps I'm working on have almost 200 pages of PDFs, some multiple page files. I'm going to try it out with a couple pages though and see how it works. Thanks.
