A few download stats from day of App(s) launch.

Hi all, thought I'd share a wee update about the two recent apps launches. My free App ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/celic/id421730589?mt=8 ) got 420 downloads in the first 24hrs and the paid App ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/banksy/id421756069?mt=8 ) received 62 downloads. Not a bad first day. Onwards and upwards. Nearly Friday.

How long did it take your apps to be reviewed and approved by Apple?

Bit slower waiting for review this time, full 8 days then approved within 36 hrs. So just shy of 10 days in total.

@javooooo - Count on 8-10 days. All my apps have been approved within that time frame.

@MacApple That's great! Your apps seem to do well! Hopefully they will continue to do good, too. How did you do that image viewer like you did on Banksy? I forgot what it's called but it displayed all your images in a table (Where you can view a lot of images at once, they're just smaller). Is it possible to do this using a script in a folder, which displays a preview of all the images in that folder? If so, could you possibly teach me how to accomplish such? Sorry if I'm not explaining myself well, I mean the table as shown in the first image of your app Banksy (I'm a little tired, sorry for terrible English!). @javooooo It takes 6-11 days from the time you submit to the app to when it's in the App store. The time is random. One of my apps actually took 6 days once, and another took 10. Most take 7-8.

@Jenny21 - It's easy to do if you use the button screens. Create 1 Button Menu (the main screen) When assign a screen to the first button you only need to create a new screen. Name it button1 and choose a Button Menu screen as the target. Repeat this for as many buttons you need. In the main screen settings you deiced the size of the buttons and that will decied how many images you will have on one row. Good luck

@Stefan I guess that means that I cannot update it with dynamic content? What I mean is, it is impossible to just upload an image to a folder and it automatically show up? My app has dynamic images.

Jenny, I think you can it's possible to have dynamic images depending on how you set it up. Each of the icons can either be a local file or a url. If you kept the images online you can change them whenever you wanted. However the user would have to refresh the app to see the changes. The other option is to have a html file and pull in images from somewhere else. Either should work.

420 downloads on day one is pretty awesome, Congrats! How did you market the app to get those numbers? Or did those people just come across the app on their own?

Bad news. I got slapped in the face with the good 'ol 8.5: Use of protected 3rd party material (trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, otherwise proprietary content) requires a documented rights check which must be provided upon request. I already supplied the permission email from the relevant company, but apparently I need something more official. I've realised now that I didn't actually put in a Copyright page into the app (or at least not in a prominent position). Do you think that would get me out of this? Of course, I'm getting a more official permission letter from the company involved, but they are rather large, it could take ages. Trying to find a quicker way out.
