Eclipse can't find Google APIs

This is my first time trying to create an app with buzztouch and I simply don't know if I have the Android SDK, Eclipse, etc. installed correctly. I tried to follow all of the directions but something still isn't working. Is there anyone that could help me start from scratch while doing a live chat over skype, msn, etc? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey! Could you let us know what the error is? How do you know it isn't installed correctly? I'd be happy to help, if you can give me more specifics as to what you are struggling with.

I think its installed incorrectly but I honestly don't know. Here is what pops up in the console when I try to create the Android Project for this app: [2011-06-27 22:59:16 - com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.project.AndroidManifestHelper] Unable to read C:\Users\Shaffer\Downloads\android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\AndroidManifest.xml: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Shaffer\Downloads\android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\AndroidManifest.xml (The system cannot find the file specified) [2011-06-27 22:59:16 - com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.project.AndroidManifestHelper] Unable to read C:\Users\Shaffer\Downloads\android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\AndroidManifest.xml: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Shaffer\Downloads\android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\AndroidManifest.xml (The system cannot find the file specified) [2011-06-27 22:59:30 - Blade Radio Mobile] Unable to resolve target 'Google Inc.:Google APIs:4' Also I have made sure that all available packages have been downloaded and installed by the Android SDK.

Actually I saw another topic javooooo where you were going to compile the code for someone else. I don't know if I could pay you or not but could you possibly do this for me as well as this is going to be a free app? I would handle the uploading of the app to iTunes and Android Market if that would make it easier as well.

Once again, please contact me at [email protected], but I do have my hands full at the moment. But if it is a small job, I'd be more than willing to help.

I kind of had the same problem. I had to go to the SDK manager->available packages->third party add-ons->and add the Google 1.6. Then it will be available on eclipse

^^ Yes, that should help. You should always run developments in the API if possible.

Ok thank you very much Shane that fixed the issue. I now have the app installed on my phone. The only other thing I can't figure out is why other people are having issues installing the app. I think it may be that I don't have it zip aligned but I'm not sure how to. I right clicked on the folder in Package Explorer, clicked Android Tools, and exported signed application package. I then sent the apk it gave me as an email attachment to two of my friends. One it just kept telling him Installation Failed when he tried to install, and the other it couldn't parse the package until he downloaded the Onymous App Installer application and installed it through that. Afterwards for him it works perfectly. And yes both of them have selected to allow non-Market apps.

That is rather odd. They might be running unsupported versions of Android? I've never had any issue with sending BuzzTouch android apps to others...

They are both running Android 2.2 The first person is on an HTC Droid Incredible 2 and the second person on a HTC Droid Incredible (original). I'm on the HTC Thunderbolt with a custom ROM on Android 2.3

Absolutely no idea, if that is the case. Sorry!
