Html Launch Gps in App

Hi, Been searching the forum for a while now, thought i read a thread on this somewhere but cannot find it. Planning on having a listing of locations that need to be updated frequently and thought Custom Html screen with Force Refresh option would be the best solution. Would like the Phone Number & Address to be able to be launch inside the the app...not close the app out and launch new maps screens...any ideas? again sorry if this was covered...sure it was, cannot find it in forums...thanks!

Don't undestand exaactly what the problem is, I guest the list of locations updates frequently and you don't want to dive in the control panel and change them? I guess you should use the DataUrl option for the location map? Then you only have to change a plain text field and all location maps are updated automatically. See this post: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=B3C95A78F280D76A804D97C&status=&searchInput=location&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1 and this one: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=65181E4ADF97874B08E6D2B&status=&searchInput=location&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1 Could be I am on the wrong track, please explain further... Good luck, Peter

Hi Peter, I am tying to do a 7 day weekly list of events that give the Band name, Venue name, address and. phone number...there could be 50 or so events going on in a single day...I created a database of all the venues so I just have to plug in the Band names for each venue...then I can just change one Custom HTML for each day as I update...this seemed like the best way so far...Doing it in the control panel would be too many screens to update and try to make sure they are refreshed (right?)....it would just be nice if since it's HTML screen with a blue link to address and phone that maps would open up inside app and not go to the external map program...thanks for the help..cheers!!

Ok, I think I understand what you mean. I am using also a html page with address links to a google map. It displays the address perfectly on the map AND displays WITHIN my app... hmmm didn't do anything special for that. Just have a html page whith the following code to display the map: <a href=http://maps.google.com/maps?q=42.331685,-83.047924>COBO Center, Detroit, MI US </a> (I do have the -Show Browser Back Button- set to YES in the document behaviour, but don't know if that does the trick). Hope this helps...

Your solution above just goes to the map screen inside your app? it doesn't ask if you want to launch maps then take you out of the app? tried inserting your above address into html body and still took me out of app to maps...?

Hmmm, now you drive me to doubt, thanks a lot :-) (perhaps I am doing the reverse thing.. from map to html, instead of from html to map) I don't have an iPhone at hand right now, but will check for you later on...

Hi, to follow up on my last comment: I was doing the reverse thing, so you are right, the external map screen is launched and no way back to your html file... If you have a brilliant solution, I'm interested too.... Peter
