Experience with using sqlite with BT

Hey I wanna include a newsstream in my app, and it seems like sqlite is the way to go if the news should be viewable without wifi/3g. I have started reading up on sqlite and database creation with javascript. Anyone got any experience with this field or have code they can share with me (or us) ? Also tips about implementing it in BT will be appriciated. Regards Laust

Newstream...hmm...not totally sure what you're up to but SQLlite may be a good choice. Or...it may be a super-duper complicated choice leading you to insanity! Funny. In most cases SQLite's a bit too tough for a novice. It's doable and a great approach for some problems but it is complex and tons of folks give up before getting any use from it. Dig in and see if you're up for managing a database and all the necessary steps...or...can you imagine using simple text files for data storage? XML, JSON, Comma values? I've stored lots of things with great success using simple 'save this file' and 'read this file' methods. It kinda depends on what your trying to do. If you're storing a list of stories with links to content this seems easier than a SQLLite db. My two cents.

I've found a good tutorial, it's a little basic in functionality but it works. I would love to know how to bind the BT Search to this. Please see the links below for the reading data from a SQLite database, the zip file contains a sample Xcode code project and db: http://dblog.com.au/iphone-development-tutorials/iphone-sdk-tutorial-reading-data-from-a-sqlite-database/ http://dblog.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/sqlitetutorial.zip I hope this helps someone :-)
