Remote Search - Database (mySQL or SQLServer)

Is there a way to connect using BuzzTouch 1.5 to a remote mySQL or SQL Server database or to store a database maybe SQLite local to the iPhone? I am wanting to extend the existing search facility to poll a remote database for content, which in turn displays a list of matching results which when clicked opens the respecive remote webpage. Or samething but locally, instead of a opening a web page the result link would open a screen populated with the respective database content. Any guru assistance would be much appreciated :-)

I am also interested in this, I want to be able to search a database stored on my website. I'm pretty sure it's not an easy thing to do but i'd also be grateful for any help :)

Hi Guys... advanced for most folks but very very popular. The trick is the 'output' of the data and what you want to have happen when it's searched. Here's the most common approach. a) HTML form (styled and locked down so it doesn't feel like a web-page) gathers the data and posts to your URL. Like: http://www.mydomain.com/app-search.php b) app-search.php takes the FORM values posted (just like a regular webpage) and does the query, finds the content c) app-search.php prints the results in RSS / XML format. The idea is that you'll be returning XML markup to the app to power an RSS screen. Tapping an item loads the details url. This means you'll need to understand RSS, .PHP (or another backend scripting language) and HTML (to build the form). Do a little digging on google and you'll be surprised at how fast you can put something like this together. Start by writing a simple XML document in RSS format, park it on your server and wire it to an RSS screen in your control panel. Once this works, continue refining...step-by-step...you'll get it.

I currently use a php script to deliver an RSS Feed which works perfectly with BT, so half the battle in getting the data to the device is done. However could you please advise as to how it maybe possible to have another search screen which could load the data similar to that of the RSS Feed which in turn would in realtime as your current search facility would search the current data set?
