[Tutorial] Image Gallery & Image Uploader PHP Script Setup

Welcome! This tutorial will help you to setup the Image Gallery & Image Uploader PHP Scripts on any server/web hosting. I've made this tutorial as easy as I possibly could. If you happen to have any questions, please post them below and I will get to you ASAP! Step 1: Finding a good host You'll want a decent host or a server (VPS or dedicated server) which has about 10GB-20GB of hard drive space, and at least 100GB of bandwidth. Recommendations: http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml http://x10premium.com/hosting.php (Their free hosting works too!) http://k-disk.net/page/SharedHosting Once you obtain hosting from the above hosts, login to your cPanel (control panel). I won't be showing a step on how to do this. Step 2: Downloading/Modified the .php Files First: Image Gallery Download: http://www.buzztouch.com/appdata/sample-image-output.txt Setting up the Image Gallery is EASY! Just edit http://www.yoursite.com/imageFolder/ with your website's folder which you want images to be uploaded to. Example: http://www.mywebsite.com/this_is_where_images_are_saved/ NOTE: Keep the 's! Second: Image Uploader Download: http://www.buzztouch.com/appdata/sample-image-upload.txt Setting up the Image Uploader is almost as easy as the Image Gallery. If you open the image uploader, you'll find a little down is where you can change some settings. Change http://www.yourdomain.com/writeableImageFolder to the SAME folder you put in the Image Gallery (http://www.mywebsite.com/this_is_where_images_are_saved/) Step 3: Uploading the .php files Almost as easy as editing the .php files! After purchasing hosting, you should get a cPanel login. Something like this: http://www.hostingzoomreview.org/images/hosting-zoom-cpanel.gif (Note: All hosts do not use cPanel. You'll have to find out how to upload your files yourself in this case). Follow the below steps (starting at cPanel home) to upload your .php files 1. Enter File Manager web root (public_html/www) 2. Create a new folder by hitting New folder at the top-left, NAME THIS FOLDER THE SAME THING YOU PUT IN this_is_where_images_are_saved IN THE EXAMPLE WHILE SETTING UP YOUR .PHP FILES. 3. Enter that folder by double-clicking on it in cPanel 4. Hit Upload 5. Select your .php files 6. Your .php files are now done uploading! That's it! You'll now want to navigate to your http://www.mywebsite.com/this_is_where_images_are_saved/ (mywebsite.com is your website, and the images are saved in the folder you placed BOTH .php files in. NOTE: This is designed for advanced users ONLY. Please do not attempt this if you do not know what you're doing! I will setup everything for $7 PayPal if you cannot. All I need is your cPanel login (This includes support while setting everything up in BuzzTouch's control panel). Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested. Remember: If you have a question, please ask them below. Just keep in mind that I won't baby you through this process.

The files are under Download, just in text format. You'll want to copy the text into notepad (or another text editor) and save it as .php

Have you seen this error before? See this thread: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=75E03115A9E292B40235F0C&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=3&doViews=1 I think it is my iPhone, same issues on a different server at different host. All is well though, moving on from this to pastures new. It'll work. Cheers again Jenny21!

Thanks very much for your tutorial. I have the Image Gallery & Image Uploader PHP Scripts working on my server. What I would like to do is provide a way for each app user to have there own private gallery of images. What's the best way to post the deveiceID and image name to a database and then have the app gallery display only the images that were uploaded by that specific device? Thanks.

Hi nelsonlo I have an app that has private uploads, not using a DB as such but I have an upload screen that is password protected so only that verified user can upload to that folder / gallery Could you do something along those lines? Might be a quick fix / workaround.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that won't work for this specific app. I need to a display a gallery to the user that includes only images uploaded by their specific device.
