How do I get just a Jpeg to open on launching the app?

I'd like to make an app that launches a Jpeg (locally, not from the web) without displaying any additional menus etc. Is this possible to do using Buzztouch, I've been trying to find a way but there doesn't seem to be one.. Basically, I've got a metro train map I've made (in Jpeg form) that I'd like to make into an app, and there's no point having a menu load up so I'd just like the app to display the jpeg image instead (Note: I'd like the image to be scrollable so people can zoom in/out of it) Besides using Buzztouch, is there an easy way to do this?

Apple may reject because of lack of content. You may want to consider offering additional information in a menu system. Maybe schedules, station information, etc.

I agree with @TheHoogler, you may have trouble getting Apple to accept this app without extra content. They can be picky, but give it a try, who knows. But to answer your question, you should be able to add a custom HTML / text page as your homescreen, and set the image as your background. The image will probably need to be saved in .png format though. This is pretty easy to do in a v1.5 app.

Thanks @Parker, I wanted to make this for the android marketplace more than the iphone, but I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind. @theHoogler, yeah I think I'll consider adding a menu with a couple of more pages Thanks for the help!

Good ideas here. .PNG or .JPG should work. .PNG is important when dealing with transparencies but both formats are supported on both phones. However, in v1.4 the Single Image screen that allows a user to upload the image to be served by the buzztouch backend does only accept .jpg. Confusing I know. Lastly, @ daytripper, you may try experimenting with a .PDF. This would allow you to add the image, along with some text, and maybe a bit more data? Just a thought. It should be just as 'simple' for the end user but could provide a bit more info if they wanted to scroll-down or somethign?

@david Not sure what you mean by using a PDF? The image I'm referring to is http://nkhil.com/mumbai-train-map.html I was thinking of following Parker's advice above and use a .png image and use it as bg. Then, I'm not sure to what extent this is possible, but add additional pages to include 1.my contact information 2.link to a journey planner (or something similar) Thoughts?

I think you definitely need to include something other than an image file. Why would someone download an app of an image when they can store the image itself on their phone. I checked out the iTunes store and there's at least one app already of the Mumbai transportation system (see below). Granted that one is 99 cents and I'm guessing yours may be free? If you plan on charging I highly recommend adding more features. http://itunes.apple.com/app/mumbai-local/id400443688?mt=8

My thought was that you would create a PDF document with thtat image include in it. Thats all.
