Help! The configuration data for this application is invalid error

I was getting ready to release the app and I deleted an extra page that was there. Suddenly, the app is not working and gives me this error: The configuration data for this application is invalid Any idea?

It also gives me this error when I start the app again in simulator: There was a problem parsing some configuration data. Please make sure that it is well-formed

Same as before. v1.4 or v1.5? Impossible to know what happended without more info. What type of screen did you delete? Doesn't seem like removing a screen would cause the app to not load.

I'm having an issue with it and I don't think it's my HTML. this is my first iOS app as I have only done android apps until now. Any ideas on why it says the configuration is invalid?

a) Visit the app in the control panel b) Core Settings > Show Configuration Data c) http://jsonlint.com/ d) Copy the JSON data into that validator, see where the erorr is. Post the results here...gonna be simple just need to know what part of the configuration data is 'invalid'

@jmp4106, did your data validate when you did: a) Visit the app in the control panel b) Core Settings > Show Configuration Data c) http://jsonlint.com/ d) Copy the JSON data into that validator, see where the erorr is. I'm asking because I just did it and it was invalid, yikes. Your Equifax Free Report data URL (it's a web-view) contained two apostrophes, invalidating the config data. I remove these, click Save, re-opened the configuration data screen from Core Settings then revalidated in JSON validator. Valid. Recompile your app...bet it works ;-) Use the JSON validator in c) above when you see these strange errors, that thing is really helpful. You could also see the console in Xcode, it reports some goodies too.

Any idea on mine? jsonlint says it is valid, but still doesn't work on Simulator.

@aphtab: Should be good. I used the validator...big red error. A carriage return existed in your Share via Email screen's message. The control panel should remove these but is not. I visited your Share via Email screen and removed the carriage return (line-break) after the word special offer! then saved. Re-validated, all good. Recompile / refresh...should be fine.

Hi Isibcn, Did apple give a reason for the rejections? Do you see any errors in xcode? We'll need some more information in order to help you out.

If they rejected it it's probably because the config data in the compiled Xcode project is very very differen than what is on the buzztouch server. It's important that the config data that is compiled in Xcode will launch the app without needing to 'refresh first'

a) Download your source-code, it will come with the latest configuration data as setup in your control panel b) Compile it in Xcode. Test it, it should work BEFORE you click Refresh on the apps home screen. If all's well... c) Click Refresh and make sure that works too. Submit to apple. Don't change anything in your control panel while it's in review. This process will ensure that the app behaves the same whether or not the Apple Tester person taps Refresh and it will also run if they do NOT tap Refresh.
