problem with some images loading... times out

I have noticed with my app lately that when first downloaded it takes awhile for some images to load to the point the user sometimes gets the message to check their internet connection. I don't understand why this is happening... my app is completely disconnected from the buzztouch server and all these images were dragged into my project so you would think they'd load instantly. Once loaded they go in the cache and all is good. And sometimes there's no problem at all. When I try it on the simulator in xcode it also takes a while sometimes but never times out. In the debug section it says the files are located in the project so I know that's not the problem. Is there something I can do to make it load quicker? thanks! Josh

Also, in my config.txt file I still have this line: startLocationUpdates:1, What does this do exactly? Does it tell it to look for updates? Should I delete this as well??

Images in your project should not time-out, this does seem strange. If there is only a file name for the image, and no URL, the loading-message should really not even show. Maybe for a slight second but not for more than that. Could it be that the app is trying to load something else? In your config data, for the image screen, is there a dataURL property set? In other words, could it be that the app is not loading an actual image (and timing out) but instead going to the internet to find it's list of images? The list of images should be childItems in the image screens JSON data, in BT_config.txt in Xcode. startLocationUpdates: Set this to zero to tell the app to ignore the GPS and NOT turn it on when the app launches. 1 means 'turn on GPS when the app launches'

No, all the files are definitely local. I've noticed most of the problem seems to be with image galleries. After checking the gallery advanced settings I saw that I usually had cache web images set to yes... could this be the problem? It doesn't really need to cache anything if it's local. I'll try setting that to no and see if it does anything. (update)-> yup, that seems to have fixed it! all image galleries load much quicker now after refreshing. Not sure why I set the cache option to yes in the first place since the files are local. Not sure why it wold even matter since there's no url to look for. But doesn't matter, it's better. Thanks!
