Buzztouch in Edu. Setting?

Thanks so much to the Buzztouch team for making a truly incredible product. It is exactly what I have looking for. I am interested in using Buzztouch in a middle/high school setting to teach computer programming. I envision starting with Buzztouch, moving to App Inventor (with Buzztouch baked-in to look at code in Eclipse), then moving to full Android/iPhone in Eclipse and Xcode. I am wondering if anyone is doing something similar with students in school, after-school, or summer programs? Thanks again Buzztouch. It is groups like y'all that make the Web a truly remarkable tool. Mike

Hi in Greensboro, Cool message, thanks for the kind words. There are a few folks that I know of that are doing what you're asking about. Some with some pretty good success. Teaching's a tough gig, especially when the instructor is only one-chapter-ahead in the text book. I know, I've done lots of it ;-) The best luck so far seems to be starting a group off by walking them through the app creation process on the site then asking them all to download their projects. Next, in subsequent class meetings the instructor disects the code and sort of reverse engineers 'how it works' This is different than the more traditional 'start with nothing and build on the app' idea. Who knows the best approach, both have merit. We are here to help in whatever way we can and look forward to seeing some of your students creations ;-)
