Trouble getting code to archive in XCode

This is more of an XCode question, really, but I can't find an answer in the Mac Developer forums, so I was hoping someone here might be able to help. I want to compile my code and submit it to the App Store, now that I've created a fab little app using Buzztouch. However, when I go to Edit Scheme, change the Archive options to Release, and hit Okay, I still can't get Product > Archive or Build > Build For > Archiving. They're greyed out and unavailable to me. What am I missing here? I can't submit to the app store if I can't get it to archive and therefore upload...is there a setting or a step I've missed in XCode, between downloading the source from Buzztouch, loading my additional image and document files, running it on the simulator, and now trying to archive? Thanks!

Aha! I managed to get it to work. In case anyone else has the same problem: Go into Edit Scheme. Change the Archive option to Release, and CLEAR OUT THE APP NAME BOX. That's right, make it blank. Click okay. Now go back in and Edit Scheme again; add your app name to the box under Archive. Click okay. Now you should be able to use the Archive function under Product > Archive. No idea why this worked, but it did.

Yes. You have to move from the simulator to iOS device option in order to archive.
