Hi Adam. Are you sure you're computer / simulator is connected to the internet? Sounds like a silly question but we do hear this alot.

Hi David, Thanks for your reply yes the computer / simulator has an internet connection. I have just worked out that if there is another android project in the same workbook then my loads fine.

Hello, I have the same issue and it was working just fine yesterday. What was it that you did to help the issue? Thanks, Wes Edit: I've been trying to figure this out and have noticed that within the emulator, I can browse to all sites except buzztouch.com, which could explain why the app is unable to download data. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Thanks!! Wes

Besides restarting your simulator, no other advise here? There aren't any known problems on the backend and all systems are 'go' so the app should download it's data fine. You could try looking at the Eclipse Console and see if it shows any error messages? Kinda grasping here, have no idea.

Hi David, Thanks for the reply. After I figured out that the issue seemed to be related to how the emulator was getting Internet access (actually log cat was showing quite a few DNS issues), I started looking around online for help on that. I eventually found out that if you are like me and you are running Windows 7 and using a wireless adapter, the emulator tries to get its DNS information from the LAN adapter, which wasn't connected. So some people suggested disabling the LAN adapter and adding a specific DNS server with the -dns-server x.x.x.x command in the Additional Emulator Command Line Options section under Run Configurations, which I did and lo and behold, it worked. If anyone else encounters this issue, hopefully it works for them too. Thanks again for the suggestions. Wes
