You will see a test ad immediately in the simulator. However, they will not appear in your live app until you set up the iad for that app. You can only set up iads in an app in an editable state. So, I would finish your app, include a couple iads (you can always add more later) download the Buzztouch file (it has to be a file downloaded after Schooner), and submit to Apple. While your app is waiting for review, you can set up the iad system for that app on itunes connect. Then, when your app is approved, they will work! If you wait for it to be approved, the iads won't work, since the setup HAS to be done while in an editable state. Good luck!
