new html/text screens - issue? (1.5)

I've got a small app with 4 word docs and 1 html scree. I kept getting this error: There was an error parsing some configuration data. Please make sure that it is well-formed Anyway, couldn't find a way around it, so made completely new app with the same content (bit by bit though to see if i can figure out what areas the problem). I had app made with 4 word docs, and splash screen and all lauched fine on the simulator. The I added in the new screen (html/text) added it to the menu and got the error: There was an error parsing some configuration data. Please make sure that it is well-formed When I went back into the contents of the html screen (I see its been updated lately as the body tags aren't there any more) in a few places in it the following text has appeared somehow: ^nbsp It may be the cause of the issue.... ? :) Anyway, in the meantime I will delete the screen and try and put it in again but as a word doc instead, hope it works :)

I just deleted the html screen and the issue goes away and it runs fine again. :)

I'm having the same issue with the Custom HTML - Text Screens. I added a screen using the sample text to make sure it wasn't something I was doing - - the error pops up when the app is refreshed, and goes away when that screen is deleted.

And what is really weird is that I had several Custom HTML-Text Screens built in, which were fine with the sample text - but when I try to edit them, I now get the parsing error.

Hi peoples; You probably notices that we put the Text / HTML editor back online last night. Is this what's causing issues or is there an issue in the app itself? Use the Source button in the editor to modify the raw HTML.

David, The editor isn't causing problems. It's when you add a Text/HTML screen to the app (even without modifying it), refresh the App's content, you then get the parsing error. In my case, I didn't modify the HTML at all, just added the screen, replaced the sample text, and got the error. Note the app was in construction and on my phone - I did not re-download the source code if that makes a difference. Thanks. DP

I didn't modify any html either, just put in some plain text that was it.

I'm having trouble isolating this. There has to be a connection between the new online HTML / Text editor and the issue three of you are describing. In theory the editor should not change anything as far as the app is concerned but something's not adding up. Here's what I've done so far: a) Created a new Custom HTML / Text screen and added it to the menu. I did not change the default sample text in the screen, just added it. Refresh app - no problem. Tapped the Custom HTML / Text menu item. No problem. b) I visited the Custom HTML screen, changed no text and clicked Save. Refreshed the app - ERROR. Awesome (in a sick way). Looking....

Fixed: You'll need to re-visit the Custom HTML / Text screen(s) you have created / edited with the new editor. Open these, then 'Save' Next, refresh the app's data...all should be fine. Too embarrassed to explain what it was - totally our fault, major no-brainer ;-)
