Icon alerts showing new songs on app (iOS)

I've put together an app to promote an album I'm creating to benefit the cancer society. I'm adding clips from the tracks sent in. I want the icon for the app to show any new clips added with a number in the corner like mail and others do. You said it's easy to add that, but nit so easy to make it automatic. I don't mind doing it manually if that makes it easier, how could I do it? I'd just want it to show new tracks so people know to go check. (iOS, buzztouch 1.5)

This could be à nice thing to add to a rss flow aswell. If you have a icon to the left that would show you if and how many new post there is in the rss.

The concept of doing it 'manually' isn't realistic. Consider this: If you changes some code to show an number on the apps icon then submitted your app, it would ALWAYS show the number - it would not dynamically change because you hard-coded it. Apple would reject this anyway. My remark about it being easy is the fact that the code is easy to implement to show the badge (on the apps icon or on a selected tab). Whats not easy is creating a method to do this dynamically. We've got a feature on the list to exactly this - use your control panel to set the badge number / indicator or the app's icon badge number / indicator. It's in the pile of things to do related to Push Notifications...also on the road map. Impossible to tell when these things will be rolled out. Wish I knew, TONS of folks are asking about this.

I only wish I could help. Thanks. I look forward to this and other new features.
