First IOS app using IOS 9 beta in Buzztouch

I am currently an IOS developer and found Buzztouch interesting to tryout. I followed the project build for the QR Code project, and added the elements in the build process. NOTE: what version of Xcode is the newest supported? I am using IOS 9 beta 3. I can use another older version as required. In IOS 9 I opened the project and got 37 errors. So I am looking to find out what older version to run for Buzztouch.

testing: I tested the application for QR code with the following results; I used Xcode 6.3.2 rather than iOS 9 beta this time. I found a code sign error and corrected it by allowing my bundle ID to be used. I attempted to run the application in the simulator and it failed. I ran it on my iPhone 6+ and it succeeded in displaying the app. But there is no functionality, so I need to take a look at the documentation to figure out what the plug-in was supposed to do? Found it interesting that it would not run in the simulator but it ran on the iPhone? Anybody have any idea why the simulator failed to work the iPhone did work?

Hi and welcome to Buzztouch. It could be a plugin that doesn't work in the simulator. Things that use the camera fall into that category. Maps can be tricky too. What plugins are you using? Also the way you drag the plugins manually into the xcode project is often the culprit. When you are new to Buzztouch, that is often the hurdle people hit first. Have you spotted that? Alan

Being new to buzztouch, I'm not familiar with all the functionality of the website. For example; is there a method where you can integrate more than one plug-in into a solution? In the same way how do you integrate a buzz touch project into Xcode projects. If I hadn't a text plug-in for example I wanted to add it to a project, how would I do that in Xcode?

Hello, Yep, you can add more than one plugin to a solution. The easiest way to do that is via the Control Panel for your app. Just add the new screen, and the plugin will then be included by default when you create a new project package. If you've already imported a previous project package into Xcode, you can just add the new plugin to the existing project, or import a new package. To add a Buzztouch project to Xcode, you just need to open up your Project Package, navigate to the xcodeproj file, double-click, and it'll automatically open in Xcode. Then you want to make sure all folders in your Project Package are included in your Xcode project, and drag any missing ones into the project to add them (likely the BT_Plugins folder won't be there). Hope this helps a bit! Mark

Take a look at the BT University videos. Albeit a little dated, they still contain valuable information on how the process works. Located under the link 'Buzztouch U' in your profile left menu. Cheers! -- Smug
