FYI : iTunes Connect will be temporarily unavailable from Saturday, December 21, to Friday, December 27, 2013.

iTunes Connect Dear Ed, iTunes Connect will be temporarily unavailable from Saturday, December 21, to Friday, December 27, 2013. During that time, iTunes Connect will not be accessible and you will not be able to submit any apps or In-App Purchases. Processing of any Newsstand Atom feeds will be delayed until after December 27. Sales and Trends reports via the Autoingestion tool will be available but may also be delayed. Also, you should not schedule any pricing changes or apps to go live between those dates. Pricing changes scheduled to take effect in that date range will cause the app to become unavailable for purchase until after December 27. Similarly, apps scheduled to go live during that range will not be released until after December 27. If you have any additional questions, use the Contact Us module on iTunes Connect. Regards, The App Store team

Yip. They do it every year. Few workarounds to check app sales over the closure though.

@MacApple, with the closure being a week away, will they still be reviewing and approving apps if submitted before then. So maybe get an App live before New Years? Is there a possibility? The Google Play have the same downtime issues?

Last year I had an IOS app approved in double quick time, just before the deadline. I had the impression they were trying to clear the books! No such issues from Google Play, as they don't have the same manual intervention in the approval process; as far as I can tell it is completely automated. Alan

As long as you send an update before or after the times, then you will get reviewed. As AlanMac says, they want to clear the books. Google Play works differently. You can upload it freely, but then they review it while it is public. They also don't have as strict rules, so if bad, it will be accepted. Only if it is very very crap, will they terminate it.

Yip. Pretty much. Been a couple of closures over the years but this is the big one. No need to plan around anything other than this. On a brighter note, those that have paid apps will see a jump in sales and revenue over the festivus period. Peace and love to all. Even the ninjas behind the curtains at iTunes connect.
