xcode maps plugin grid

Hello all, I have a maps plugin integrated into my app for IOS. The issue is, when the map is launched, I see gridlines (similar to android when you don't have the key). Do I need to use a key for iphone also? If so, can someone show me a reference to follow? I am new to Mac OS and xCode. Thanks everyone

Hello, Nothing special is required for maps with iOS - you don't need the whole Google Maps API key like you do for Android. However, Apple did make some changes with mapping in iOS6, which may be causing your issue. What SDK are you testing with? Are you running iOS6 in the simulator? And, does your simulator have network connection so that it can download the map tiles? Mark

I believe I figured out the issue. The IDE didnt finish downloading the required libraries when I was testing it on the simulator. I let it finish, then ran the simulator again, and have no issues. The map is loading just as it should. However, I wonder if there is a way to use the new maps function on iOS. This new app allows you to view 3D buildings and such.

Ah, good to know about the downloading the SDK thing! Glad you got it worked out. I don't know if much thought has been given on how to utilize the new functionality provided by Apple. I do know buzztouch has been working to just make sure the basic stuff still works! Mark
