By default, there is not such an application in the Emulator, and often not on actual devices either. If you can get Google Play installed on your emulator, you should be able to find a free office app that will allow you to read Excel files. This isn't an issue on iOS, which knows how to read and display Excel/Word/PowerPoint files with no extra apps required.
