If you have no background set in the Advanced Settings of the html / text screen it will use the Theme's background. Of course you could always add background:'#ffffff' in the HTML? The buzztouch backend has ZERO to do with the background color of a screen. Sure, you can set it in the control panel but once your app downloads this data it doesn't 'look' to the control panel to magically change a color or something. If the theme's background color is set to white. And / or the background color in the Advanced Settings of the screen is set to white, and you have black background, something isn't right.
