Custom URL to MP3 file, BACK button doesnt stop audio

Hi there, I checked the forum, but couldn't find an answer, so here's the thing. I have a Custom URL screen pointing to a .mp3 url. When tapping the screen to load the URL the mp3 starts playing, but when tapping the back button in the navigation bar the music doesn't stop playing. Is there a way to make it stop when leaving the screen? I tried the Audio stops with Back button option, but that only seems to work when using the Background Audio option. Any advise? (Appname CISSP, screenname AudioTest, BT V1.5)

I've had the same issue with videos playing. other than trying to edit the code to close the app when they exit it as opposed to it still running? I dont' know though. i have that issue too.

If you use a URL to an .mp3 or a movie, iOS takes control and you lose it. For the .mp3, you should be able to use the Streaming Audio screen with the URL to the .mp3. This screen should allow the Stop Audio on Back button option to work.

Thanks David for your quick response. The audio I am using is from an external source and is a dynamic list of audio files presented as a RSS feed. So manually entering it as a streaming audio screen is not an option for me. I was hoping that after using the back button the audio stopped and I could pick another audio file from the RSS fees to listen to. Actually, I see the same behavior with feeds from youtube. When clicking the back button the video still outputs audio. I will now start my out of the box thinking session and see if I can figure out a workaround. Thanks! Edit: redownloaded sourcecode and testen on a iPhone device. Seems to be working now, music stops when tapping Back button. Previously I was testing op a iPad device. Behavior is different on iPad (eg don't get the quicktime logo when playing audio). For now: I am happy, thanks again!

This is good info, I didn't realize iPad behavior was different. Good stuff.

OffTopic: I edited previous post and hit the update button. All empty lines (breaks) that were there in the original post are gone after Update.

I am having the same issue with the RSS Plugin. I have an audio RSS feed. When you click play it plays. When you click done, it goes to another screen that shows the play button as well as a progress bar, a back button and a refresh button. If I stay on that second screen for more than a second or so, the mp3 resumes playing no matter where I go in the app. If I repeat the process I can actually have multiple instances of that mp3 playing at the same time.

Hi guys, I know that it is an super-old thread but I may have found the beginning of a solution here: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=928A361A7D0BD9C6E83E1F0&tid=928A361A7D0BD9C6E83E1F0 Not sure if it is relevant to RSS. Farcat
