On iphone, you have to be a developer by paying 99 dollars. After this you can download to your iphone, otherwise you can only use it on the simulator.

Are you an apple developer for apps? If so, do you know if its $99 a year? how many apps can you publish during that years length? Etc.

The fee for the Apple developer program is $99 per year. There is no limit to the number of applications you can upload to iTunes. See the Apple Developer Portal for more info. developer.apple.com

I am a new developer, haven't published one yet. But as far as I know you can publish as much as you like in one year, then you have to pay $99 again next year.(yes it's $99)

So without getting into major detail, maybe a summary.. How would I go about publishing my application from xcode into my apple developer account.. As if i were to pay $99 a year?

There are lots of details about this...generally speaking it goes like this: a) You create some software, a 'mobile app' b) You register as a developer with Apple. c) You log into your Apple Developer Portal and create a provisioning profile so you can 'sign' your apps (see the portal for info about this) d) You use Xcode to upload your compiled binary (the softare) to iTunes e) Apple reviews your applicaiton and approves or rejects it based on it's content, usefullness, etc. f) When approved, it's in the market There is a steep learning curve to each of these steps but we're certain you can figure them out like thousands of others have. The hard part is writing the software - that's what our tools help you do. The rest of it is well documented in dozens of places online, in this forum, and on the Apple dev. site.

One last question, Does apple reject an app if its no use to them? Let's say its for my company and I had already payed my developers fee of $99 a year. Will they reject it?

Apple accepts and rejects apps for all kinds of reasons. There is an endless debate about there sometimes draconian descisions and sometimes 'joke' decisions. We all know about the Fart App, etc. It's super tough when they reject yours - very very frustrating. Nearly all apps are accepted eventually but some are rejected at first due to poor artwork, useless intent, purely marketing, etc. It's not that big of a deal. Make a good app, that serves a purpose, that looks good and you should be fine. Rejection or approval has nothing to do with your fees. You pay either way.

So what happens if i were to only pay for one year. and in that time i distributed 5 or more apps to the app store. would they still appear and be able to be bought even after i stop becoming a developer? example if i only payed for one year of developing.

Nope. Sounds to me like you need to visit the Apple Developer site and read all the information listed. You're asking only the questions that come to mind now. Beleive me, more will. Visit the site, read the docs. Do some research. You'll understand the process in short-order.

This is what Steve :) at Apple told me when they called about one of my rejected apps last year: 1. They need to be useful to the user in content and/or functionality. 2. No multiple applications with similar, limited functionality. (Example: I had two wallpaper apps by the same photographer with different content but the same limited functionality) As David mentions they can be draconian about things so make sure you test the heck out of your app to ensure everything works right, both on the simulator and device if possible.
