Need Help with Compliling

I have downloaded eclipse, I have downloaded and installed the droid SDK & ADT. I don't have a clue what I am doing with them. Even following the instructions. I just don't understand any of it. Is there anyone out their that wouldn't mind helping me out. I can send you all the files I get from buzztouch. My app is nothing fancy or revolutionary. I run a print and sign business and just want to make a simple app to show off my product prices so my clients can quote themselves faster without ringing my phones all day with dumb questions like how much are business cards, postcards or a coroplast signs. I am not asking anyone to do this for free. I can compensate you, if the price is reasonable. Please lets discuss. I just wanna get this up and running and go back to running my presses and making signs where I belong.

Are you looking to have someone compile and publish it to the android market and iTunes? do you have an Android Developer account set up or iphone developer account? you need to get your google maps keys figured out too if you are using gps in the app...if you need my help with this let me know...you could send me the downloaded source code and i should be able to do it...email me at [email protected] to discuss further....thanks and good luck p.s. i would suggest sticking with it and reading tons of forum info with really useful tips...i was in your boat not long ago and have a handle on it now...you can too!!

Hi Ian, I will email you over the source code. I don't really need it in the markets. I really just want a way to offer a download link to it off my website if possible. I don't need gps in the app. Frankly for the most part its going to point to directories on my web host server to serve up my web pages inside the app. Its really going to be a simple stupid app. The whole point behind it is to 1. Increase my Brand Awareness 2. Give another tool to my clients so they don't call me with dumb quote requests. I spend 90% of my day fielding those calls and it really cuts into production time. Thank you so much for your help Ian.

I would like it for iphones too if possible. I don't know much about them though. I went straight from using the Palm OS on my Treo for the last 10 years right into droid. I have never used an iphone and know as much about them as I know about building a space shuttle. Which is just about nil. Can I make an app available to iphones from my site or do they have to go into an iphone store of some kind?

yes, i believe the only way for iphone apps is to be downloaded only throught the iTunes app store (you can post a link to it on your website)...so you need to get an Apple developer account set up then publish to itunes so people can download your app (you need a current mac computer to do this)...android is a little different in that regards

is that something someone like you could do for me?? I am emailing you over both sets of source code right now. So you can see what we are discussing firsthand.

HI Jason, i ran the iphone version in the simulator and it seems that each of your menu items are supposed to go to a web page? if so, web pages are not loading...also, apple iphone store might not approve this app because they might consider it just a directory for webpages...they sometimes reject because of that.

I haven't finished coding the pages yet, thats why they aren't coming up. I haven't had a chance to finish and load them to my host server. I can see what your are saying about it being possibly considered a directory for webpages. Its basically my website packaged up for easier distribution. If I have to stick to droid only I can live with that.

I wasn't able to get it to run kept saying I had src errors I had to correct. Its beyond my understanding. If you were able to get it to run. Does that mean you could compile the .apk file to put on my website?

i could compile the apk. and it will have to be signed (keytool) for it to work on android phones...i understand if you don't have time to search for answers in setting up your eclipse envoronment...there is a bit of a learning curve..takes many people a full day or two to run correctly....sent you an email
