Android Tester

My app seems to work great in debug mode. I changed it to release mode and I no longer see my map. Is this normal? A screenshot is here http://buzzingxyox.s3.amazonaws.com/releasescreenshoot.png I bought an andriod tablet off the internet but it will not load my app. (I'm in the process of returning it.) Can someone test my android app for me. Please email me at myprivamail at gmail. Thanks

Hi tiger... The map-tiles not loading is a bit confusing but very easy to fix. It's a matter of setting the build and the Google Map APi to the same thing. Example: If you're buidling in debug, you'll want the Google Maps Debug API key to load. If your building for release (like for the App Market), you'll want the Google Map API Release to load. When you download your source-code, it's set to use the Debug key, not the release key. When you're ready to compile for release, find the screen_location_map.xml file in the /src/layout folder and change the reference from the Debug key to the Release key. Open that file, you'll see it what I mean.... Change: @string/googleMapsAPIKeyDebug To: @string/googleMapsAPIKeyRelease Compile for release, install on device..map tiles will load ;-)

Thanks, Maybe I'm missing something. What are the steps to compile for release? I don't see the compile option.
