Help Compiling App

I have tried pretty much everything with Eclipse, even with Command line, I seem to cannot get the app to compile to save my life! Would anyone be willing to compile the app for me for android and possibly iOS, I would be more than happy to exchange for storage space on my dedicated server to host your app as well as I would be forever greatful :) you can contact me at [email protected] Thanks again Guys !

Hi in TX. You may get a response... folks are generally pretty helpful around here. But... if you have Eclipse setup on your machine, you can probably stick with this a bit longer and get it done yourself. This would save you having to find a dev. each time you want to update the app in an app market. Have you been able to compile ANY Android app, like the sample in the video? Or, are you past that and can't get your buzztouch app created? Getting whatever is screwy on your machine adjusted will depend on whether you can compile Android apps, and just not your buzztouch app, or no Android apps at all.

Ive tried numerous times, even installing and uninstalling, each time i get a weird error when trying to install the Dev tools, saying one of the plugins needed is missing, yet I cant find the plugin to install for the life of me, another time i tried, it told me that JDK wasnt installed, yet I had just ran a fresh installation of it prior to installing eclipse. Ive tried this on both my Windows and Linux boxes, i think im just cursed with bad luck lol

Bad luck.. funny. You're not alone.. Eclipse is a nightmare! So.. this means we need to get your machine loading and running a basic Android app, has nothing to do with your buzztouch app yet. This can get frustrating...I'll try to go step-by-step. a) Can you open eclipse on your machine at all or does it error? b) If yes to a, if you choose 'New Project' do you see an option for 'New Project: Android Application'

Yes, im able to select New Project, but when trying to set up the Development tools by downloading from the repo, thats where the error shows, when setting up the Dev tools.

Hmm... if you can select New Android Project then you must have already setup the development tools? I'm guessing you already watched the videos for Android (the ones we made)... So...if Eclipse runs, and New Android Project is an option, see if you have the Android Virtual Device window available. It's called the AVD and can be opened from one of the Eclipse Menu's

at one point it did sucessfully install, and I got all the way to the point of compiling the app, but when selecting to create from current location ( the folder i extracted my app to) the Google API check box wasnt present and it would not let me continue. I have watched the tutorials many times lol

Good. OK, this means you must have the Anroid Tools installed like you thought. But, it also means that you do not have the Google v1.6 API's installed. This is our problem, we need download the Google v1.6 API's. Does your ADT window look like the one in the video... or not? Can you post a URL to a screenshot showing your ADT panel so I can see the errors.

This was on a prior install, after I completely uninstalled and tried to re-install, now im getting this error when attempting to re-install the Dev tools, as I thought something may had been wrong with the install: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: Android Development Tools 10.0.1.v201103111512-110841 (com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.feature.group 10.0.1.v201103111512-110841) Missing requirement: Android Development Tools 10.0.1.v201103111512-110841 (com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.feature.group 10.0.1.v201103111512-110841) requires 'org.eclipse.gef 0.0.0' but it could not be found

This also did not match my symptoms, the SDK i have does match the current version of my Eclipse that I am using which is the Classic 3.6.2

This message: com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.feature.group means you do not have the Android 'stuff' included in Eclipse. I'm not what else I can offer? There are dozens of tutorials online and countless approaches to getting your machine setup. If you're unable to work through these you'll not be able to compile anything. Maybe find more YouTube videos or somethign that help you get a better understanding of the Eclipse + Android SDK relationship. I'm thinking there is a simple step you're missing? Here is a really useful step-by-step guide you could try: http://www.talkandroid.com/android-sdk-install-guide/
