Custom URL Querystring isssue with spaces 1.5 built April 4th.

I have a custom URL ----- SearchTerms.htm?Search=Empire State Building (also tried Empire%20State%20Building). It works fine in MAC or PC Safari or iPhone Safari directly. However the spaces are being stripped when coming from the app and thus the search terms look like EmpireStateBuilding when they come through. I checked the raw URL and it is coming through without spaces. Any suggestions? Thanks Tom

I also tried using Empire+State+Building but it also gets stripped out.

The control panel removes spaces from URL's intentionally. Long story, has to do with a few technical things. We'll look into fixing this limitation shorty. Nudge this post in a few days if you don't see a reply.

Hi David, Any luck with this fix? I am working on some custom feeds with querystrings that require spaces. Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom... should be fixed. The control panel now allows spaces in URL's. We've tested a few apps to make sure this doesn't break anything on the device side and so-far-so-good. Let us know if something is still not as expected.

not sure if I should start a new thread....I'm having similar problem on Android version 1.4. Android app is unable to translate spaces in url. For example http://www.domain.com/hello world.html is a valid page but android (1.4) app will tell me not a valid url. It renders fine on iOS (1.4) app.

Hi in Sunnyvale. Been awhile since I dug into Android v1.4 web-view. Can you get a look at the LogCat (output console) in eclipse and see if it prints the URL it's trying to load? The fix is going to be realted to how Android / 1.4 is handlng the spaces in the URL. The URL you enter in the control panel (assuming it looks right after you save it) should be what the app tries to load. It probably isn't. This means it's a matter of trying to isolate what it's actually trying to load (the exact URL) then figuring out where it's changing? I can say I haven't heard this before with v1.4 and there are tens of thousands of them in the wild. Maybe something else going on?
