Hi in Seattle. There are several steps to do this, all of which are covered in detail in the Apple Developer Center. It's a matter of a) Code-signing your app with a valid Apple Provisioning Profile b) Compiling in Release Mode after selecting your Release Profile c) Uploading to Apple Apple does a great job at documenting this stuff and providing step-by-step how tos.

By all means, get the app on your phone and play with it some. The simulator's nice, but there's nothing like the real thing.

Aye. To send to itunes you need the build itself (complied with xcode) a few screenshots (320x480), logo 512x512, blurb about it, set your price, keywords, think thats nearly it. Once you've done it a few times its grand. G'luck!

and one thing that really tripped me up in the beginning is how to submit the file itself. you have to use an uploader program that comes with xcode but it wouldn't accept the .app file in your products folder. oh no, that would be too easy. you need to zip it and upload the .zip file. good luck!

Mutzy is correct, but in the latest Xcode, you can also validate the app (good idea), then upload it from there.

I really do appreciate all your suggestions. But this is really above my intellect I guess. David says Apple has ggreat documentation and how-to's but I cannot even follow them. So thanks anyway but i will just abandon the project.

@samlee There's no doubt that making software is a complex process and it's a bummer to think you're throwing in the towel. However.. sometimes that does make the most sense. You may consider visiting a freelance site such as oDesk or eElance. Sites like these help folks connect with developers in an effort to help them 'create'. In many cases you can find a developer for a very low cost. Good luck.

Hi, is it true that I need to pay $99 for each year I want my app to be in the Apple Store ? :( I thought it was a once in a life-time fee.
