Embedded (or streaming) audio

Hey all, This to me seems like a question that's been answered in parts, so i figured for good measure i'd cram it all into one post! so here we go. What are the possibilities (in V1.4 for now, since 1.5 doesn't yet generate code for both android/iphone platforms) of embedding an 'audio player' which plays content -pre-loaded to the app under a menu? If this isn't a possibility, is it possible to somehow stream audio from a pre-determined sources? (like, a facebook bandpage player, or myspace music player, etc) so that the user essentially has access to this audio without necessarily having to go to a myspace/facebook page? If this isn't possible, i understand the ability to stream youtube videos, which would be a pretty appropriate solution. Thanks for all the help! -Yap Attack!

v1.4 supports streaming audio from a file-based stream. .mp3 files work best. However, there are lots of examples of implementations using 'streaming' sources like shoutcast and others. Android is tricky when streaming. The challenge with using sources like myspace and facebook is the idea that these services normally have 'players' that are Flash Based - no good on either iOS or Anroid. Some Android devices will play flash content, some wont. No iOS devices will play flash. Ultimately, the best choice is to host some audio files on your site then stream them to the app. If this isn't a good solution you'll need to begin experimenting with your other sources.

I have found that hosting my own audio/video files is the easiest solution. If for no other reason, you dont have to worry about somebody else's site changing and breaking your link. Even if you dont have your own website there are lots of free website websites (webs.com, etc) that will work for hosting media files as long as you can FTP the files to a location that can be referenced.

Hello, I'm a Newbie here and have spent several hours going over the posts here in the forum. I have yet to find anyone who clearly and concisely addresses the issue of shoutcast streaming/.mp3 streaming. Can someone please assist me with this issue? Ideally, it would be nice to have the streaming audio feature actually stream audio. More correctly I find it to be simply an advance mp3 player. But what we all really need is the functionality to play a shoutcast url stream like http://127.0.0.1:8002/; ... nothing more ... nothing less. And in a perfect world, we'd have access to the winamp mobile app source code .. *sigh*

@FrudeCoder Any chance you could recommend some great hosting sites for streaming media? Cheers
