Share on Facebook and Twitter: Avoiding applications?

Hi again everyone, I just made an application for the android forum that contains the share on Facebook and share on Twitter links. I was going through the readme text for the source code of my application, and it said that in order for the share buttons to work, we must create a facebook or twitter application (which is fast and easy). Problem is, I don't know the first thing to creating a facebook application, and I need to get this app into the market as soon as I can. So is there any other method that I could follow that will allow those two buttons to work without making applications for them? I read somewhere that we could use the default buzztouch API keys..but I'm confused. Help would be most appreciated. Thank you!

DId you go to Facebook and Twitter? It literally takes a few minutes. The reason you need to do this is beyond our control. They require you (in the Android world, iOS is different) to get your own API keys. Creating an 'applicaiton' is nothing more than filling out a form, naming it, and adding an icon. Google it... you'll be stoked to see how easy it is.

...are you sure? I tried doing a search on google on how to make a Facebook application, and I'm getting results that require more than just filling out a form. I found a video tutorial on YouTube that seems to indicate the same thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCQj3Vupi9c&feature=related. I guess if it were true that it was that simple, I would've created one as soon as I was told to in the readme file. Or maybe I'm just researching wrong?

i didn't mean to trivialize the process, just trying to help. Try looking at this first... http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/ If it's beyond your level of understanding, or, it's simply too much of a pain-in-the-arse... I get it. I wouldn't mind helping but not sure how? If I could log into your facebook account ( not advocating this at all ) I'de be happy to. Hmmm I wonder what's easier? buzztouch Default API keys: You're welcome to enter them in your Android App - but - I can say that this is not a good idea. It doesn't change anything on our end, it's just that they (Google / Android / App Market) have made some noise about this, and how they discourage it. That's all. Re-post if you want to use buzztouch API keys and I'll email them to you (against their tems to post them on a website like this forum).

I apologize if I sounded that way. Was just a little frustrated at the time I guess lol. I really appreciate the help you've given me up to this point. Thank you so much. =) Well, right now I'm attempting to create the application via the YouTube tutorial I just posted, but if things don't end up working out as planned, I wouldn't mind giving you my facebook login. It's not my personal account but a temporary one for extra things like these, so it wouldn't be much of a problem.

A quick question though - do I necessarily need to set up a server in order for my application to work?
