Legal Info Screen at Start

What's up, guys? First off, I'd just like to say how simple, yet powerful BuzzTouch is. It's an amazing tool which I'm recommending to all my developer buddies. Anyways, the Application I'm developing uses binarual beats (two different pitches in opposite ears to stimulate the brain and create new experiences or highs, if you will). Although this technique is used for meditation, relaxing and experimenting, it's completely safe. However, just to be causious, I'd like to place a Terms of Service/User Agreement at the app's start just incase (with my luck) something goes wrong. In order to listen to the music, and use the App in general, you'll need to accept these conditions. This is how I was planning on setting it up. http://oi53.tinypic.com/dqqg0l.jpg ; the text box would be scrollable. Like previously stated, this page should appear directly after the application's start. Now, I'm fairly inexperienced with Xcode (I've come from GML and the AS2/3 communities) so as much help as possible would be appriectiated. If this is too much to ask for, I could find a way to work around it. Thank you for your time.

Hi in NY: Very cool! Because you're on the Early Adopter list.... this will be super easy. My approach would be... a) Create an app with or without a Splash Screen (a fading image would not affect this approach) b) Create a pdf / html / word / webpage screen to hold your terms of service text. c) Set this screen as your app's home-screen d) On this screen (the screen with the text), add a button to the right side of the navigation bar that loads the app's main menu. This would work, however, in thinking... it would not be a good approach if you were using a tabbed layout? Hmm... Also.. I'm thinking it would also be 'lame' to show the back button on the main menu. It would show because the main menu would not be the home screen. Hmm.... Sounds like we need a few more Splash Screen options... like a Text Splash screen instead of just an Image Splash screen? I would start with this approach.. it'll be easy to change it later if we get the Text Splash setup. (I'll push for this)

@Banack, you could also use a splash screen showing the terms of service, and set the display time to -1 If I recall correctly, this causes the splash screen to remain displayed until clicked on by the user. At the bottom of the splash/terms screen, you should write Click To Accept Terms or Press Home To Exit App or something like that. @David, I've noticed that some apps display a message upon download from th app store that must be accepted/declined prior to download. I presume this is a function/feature accessible via iTunes connect or the developer portal? Just haven't found out how to implement. Maybe it's just a function of the app ratings system (content for over 18 for example). Maybe it's not customizable by the developer? I notice it whenever I update an app I have for craigslist, CraigFish or something like that.

Yes... some apps are configured in the iTunes portal to require this. You can create a 'terms of service' in the portal. Never done it.

I usually put my legal disclaimers and such in the settings bundle. A lot of large companies seem to be using that route, such as info selling Facebook.
