What android version should I compile the 1.4 app for?

For the android app in eclipse, after downloading the 1.4 app version from buzz, what should I compile for? I dont care for the newest version, whatever most phone have and are compatible with. Thanks! David.

Watch the videos. Compile for Google API's v1.6 - NOT Android API's v1.6 - big difference.

Where would I get Google API's v1.6? Having some trouble finding it in Eclipse and unexpectedly on google.

Watched the video, but no explination on how you got it! Thought I found it, installed it, but no changes in Eclipse (downloaded and installed this: http://code.google.com/p/google-gdata/downloads/detail?name=Google%20Data%20API%20Setup%20%281.6.0.0%29.msi ) Any suggestions? Thanks! David.

Giggling. Eclipse drives my nuts!!! So..when you configure a new device in the AVD list (simulator list) are you saying that you don't see the Google 1.6 API's choice? Launch the 'testing your eclipse install video' again and pause it around the 4:00 minute mark. This is where it shows how to add a simulator running the Google 1.6 apis.

Right I see you talking about the API, and how to always choose that option, but you don't say anything about what to do if the Google api 1.6 option is not there (see my screenshot below). Thanks for any help there David! http://felixapplications.com/nooption.png

Duh... wasn't paying attention - missed that! See this for how to get them installed: http://code.google.com/android/add-ons/google-apis/index.html Looks like the newer releases of the SDK are shipping with them, I had to add them to my environment after getting the Android SDK. Maybe my verison is older?
