menu buttons black overlay at bottom / background-image center-problem / black backgrounds

i have a small problem. since last update all background-colors are set to black and there is a black overlay at the bottom of menu buttons. the size is that of the browser-navigation. AND the background-image centers the middle of the image to left top corner, not to the center of the screen. i am a bit confused. many greeting torben

Hi Torben, We've been struggling with this for sometime and once again feel like we've figured it out. However, messages continue to trickle in (like yours). Please post the app name so we can get a look. Thanks.

Hi David, App-name: MWW2011v2 i tried the double resolution of the background-image and put the old image(320x480) in the right bottom corner of that. it was all fine then, because it seems to be the center of the image thats in the left upper corner. greetings torben

Ah.. this helps. I'm thinking we're missing something really REALLY simple (funny). All were trying to do is center the darn thing! We'll get it.

@ Torben: I created a few PDF's to try to help understand how the background images work. Look for the link in a Theme or any screens advanced settings. We need to reduce the file sizes of the .PDF's for the samples - geeeez their huge! I'm hoping that doc. helps and maybe clarifies some things. If it's still not working, of course we'll continue looking. The way the sample images show is what it's intended to do and the background behavior on a few test apps here do exactly what we expect. Kudo's in Germany.

@ David: now i can rebuild the problem with the background. When i create a new app and make a tabbed layout at first the background will be messed up. i then have to set the layout to home screen(non-tabbed layout) (save), build tabbed layout again and all is fine. i hope it helps to understand this little bug. many greetings torben. PS: thanks for helping with special characters, Mackimack is helping me to :) EDIT: it also fixed the problem with the missing background color. still have the buttons cut in menu-button. its not a layer, because i can see the background. looks more like the window where the buttons are moving is to small!? APP: torben2011test01

Buttons: I see wha you're referring to. I see two full buttons + one half button on the home screen. Have you tried to scroll the button 'strip' Button strips (and grid) are scrollable up-n-down. If you don't want the effect you see here, make the buttons smaller or larger so no buttons get cut-off in portrait or landscape. The number of buttons will effect this too. .
