Error Messages for Location Map

Ok I know it might seem I'm obsessed with error mesages at the moment - but really trying to make sure that my app is both as user-friendly and apple-guidelines friendly as it can be. When the app is initially loaded onto the device it will ask if you would like to allow the app to use your device location - great. However, assuming the user selects to not allow this: I have Location Map screens which do not show the user location by default but contain the 'find me' button in the bottom toolbar. If this button is selected now nothing happens. Would it be possible here to either: 1) Preferably re-display the initial question asking the user to allow the app to use their location? or if not, 2) At least show some form of error message stating that location settings must be turned on to allow this feature. Cheers once again.

Hmm...so nothing happens when the find-me button is tapped after rejecting location info, this is problematic... There isn't way to re-prompt iOS to ask for location information again. Apple considers re-asking a bad thing. It's a matter of not tricking people or hassling folks (according to apple). So, maybe because they have said 'no' earlier, which could have been a few minutes earlier or could have been a few months earlier, we use the same logic as before. Load up a little information screen explaining how they can re-enable this in their phones settings panel then try again, or cancel and do thing. The idea is that the find-me button should trigger some event, even if it's not a pin-drop. You should see the list of these kind of ideas in our offices, getting longer rather than shorter. This is good ;-)
